Shaoxing People’s Hospital (Zhejiang University Shaoxing Hospital) is a modern comprehensive tertiary Grade-A hospital that integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and health care services. It was founded in 1942, and its current Chang’an campus covers an area of 228 acres with a building area of 200,000 square meters. It has 1860 open beds and 54 clinical and technical departments, as well as 23 affiliated Shaoxing Quality Control Centers. The hospital has large advanced equipment such as PET-CT, linear accelerator (VMAT), 3.0T MRI, 320-slice CT, ECT and more. Shaoxing People’s Hospital has been awarded honors such as National Civilized Unit, Top 100 Hospitals of National Prefecture-level Cities, Advanced Collective in Zhejiang Province’s Foreign Aid Medical Work, Advanced Collective in Zhejiang Province’s Fight against COVID-19, Provincial Anti-terrorism Sentinel Surveillance Site , and Shaoxing City Development Contribution Award.

医院构建外科微创腔镜技术、骨运动及心脑疾病康复重建技术、危重症救治技术等十大核心医疗技术，荣获国家首批外科基础技能提升项目培训基地。建设胸痛中心、卒中中心、创伤中心、危重孕产妇救治中心等区域医疗救治中心，并相继通过国家级评审。2022年浙江省DRGs重点监测病种及术种排名，9个病种/术种进入全省前十。

The hospital has constructed ten core medical technologies, including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, Orthopedic and cardiovascular/cerebrovascular disease rehabilitation and reconstruction techniques, and critical illness treatment technology. It has been accredited “National Surgical Basic Skills Improvement Training Center (First Section).” In the past years, the hospital has established regional medical treatment centers such as the Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, Trauma Center, and Critical Obstetric and Gynecologic Care Center, which have successively passed national-level review and approval. In 2022, our hospital’s nine diseases/procedures ranked top anteposition (ahead) 10th in Provincial Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) surveillance system .

The hospital is committed to transforming into a national research-oriented regional medical center concentration on our “problem-oriented, cross-integration, differentiated development, and local characteristics” development principles, and actively developing key medical disciplines. It strives to be a first-class hospital, driven by innovation. At present, there are 1 national clinical key specialty construction platform, 1 Zhejiang Province “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” key traditional Chinese medicine specialty, 2 provincial clinical key specialty construction laboratories, 4 regional specific disease centers of East Zhejiang Province, 1 Zhejiang provincial key traditional Chinese medicine discipline, 2 provincial key support medical disciplines, 10 key medical support disciplines jointly construction in Shaoxing and Zhejiang Province, and 30 key medical disciplines in Shaoxing City. The hospital is the only one awarded the title of “the innovative team of traditional Chinese medicine of Zhejiang Province” in the Shaoxing region. Adhering to the concept of “promoting hospital development through science and education,” the hospital’s research strength is at the forefront of municipal-level hospitals. In 2022, the hospital obtained 6 funds from provincial basic research projects, which ranked 4th among municipal hospitals, and 72 funds from provincial medical and health science and technology plan, which ranked 2nd among municipal hospitals. As one of the first batch of Zhejiang Province Health Commission’s new technology and appropriate technology cultivation and promotion centers, the hospital is vigorously promoting the translation of scientific and technological achievements in to clinical practice, hence its number of patented technologies ranks 18th among the nation’s municipal tertiary hospitals in the “China Hospital Innovation and Transfer Ranking.”

医院着力搭建与国际、国内著名高校、医院及知名专家合作平台。2010年开启浙江大学与绍兴市人民医院院校合作的序幕，挂牌“浙江大学绍兴医院”，现以非直属附属医院管理模式运行第三轮院校合作新篇章，并与浙江大学医学院附属邵逸夫医院开启高质量全面合作，19个学科深入对接。建有国内24位知名专家的工作站，建有绍兴市卫生健康委国内名医专家工作室12个。

As for engagement, the hospital seeks in-depth international cooperation and supports collaborative scientific research in various specialties. It has got approval for a number of international projects of scientific research, set up international joint platforms for personnels and departments. We made efforts to build a cooperation platform with prestigious universities, hospitals and experts internationally and domestically. In 2010, it began its school cooperation with Zhejiang University, and Shaoxing People’s Hospital was then officially renamed “Zhejiang University Shaoxing Hospital.” It is now operating under a non-directly affiliated subsidiary hospital management model and has embarked on a third round of school-hospital cooperation. The hospital has established comprehensive and high-quality cooperation with Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, Affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, with 19 disciplines closely cooperated. The hospital has established 24 workstations for prestigious domestic experts and 12 workshops for famous domestic medical experts under the Shaoxing Municipal Health Commission.

医院秉承人才是“第一资源”理念，多层次全方位构建“引育留用”人才制度体系。截至2023年5月15日，拥有职工3410人，其中高级职称人员661人、博士37人，硕士773人。有市级以上人才称号58人次。2021年获批浙江省博士后工作站，引进5名兼聘教授，依托医院海外人才成功申报“国家千人”计划，荣获绍兴市“重才爱才伯乐奖”。

Adhering to the concept of “talent is the first resource”, the hospital has established a multi-layer and all-round talent system of “recruitment, cultivation, retaining and utilization”. the hospital now has 3,410 employees, including 661 senior professional titles, 37 with doctor’s degree and 773 with master’s degrees. There are 58 winners of various state-level talent projects. In 2021, it was approved as a Postdoctoral Workstation in Zhejiang Province, introduced 5 concurrent professors, successfully applied for the “National Thousand Talents” introduction programme due to its introduced overseas talents, and won the “Talent Scout Prize” of Shaoxing City.

Currently, the hospital is promoting the coordinated development of the Mirror Lake Campus and Chang’an Campus in accordance with the “one hospital, two districts” model, accurately anchoring their differentiated development directions and achieving complementary advantages. The hospital strives to become a high-level regional medical center, a high-level medical research center, and a high-level medical talent gathering center in the city by the end of the “14th Five-Year Plan” period.
